Erasmus Staff Training Week 2026 \u2013 Meet our Staff
<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Erasmus Weeks organised by ULi\u00e8ge Library are usually centred around a specific theme, bringing together librarians, managers, and project leaders who share similar experiences, interests, and challenges. However, beginning with the 2025 edition, and continuing in 2026, the format has evolved to offer participants the opportunity to meet a wider range of ULi\u00e8ge Library staff members with diverse professional backgrounds. This new format is a “Meet our Staff” week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Meet our Staff” Erasmus Week allows participants to engage with various key figures within our library through thematic sessions. Attendees also have the opportunity to arrange private meetings with our staff and visit some of our facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The “Meet our Staff” event will take place over five days, from the morning of Monday, 29 June, to the afternoon of Friday, 3 July 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The first 3 days of the event will take place on the Sart Tilman campus (Urbanists District<\/a>, address: Traverse des Architectes, 4000 Li\u00e8ge) and the last 2 days will be held on the city-centre campus in the Outremeuse district, Building L5 – Language Training Centre<\/a> (address: Rue de Pitteurs 18, 4020 Li\u00e8ge).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Programme<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The week will begin on Monday, 29 June, with a morning session dedicated to a general presentation of the University and ULi\u00e8ge Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The week will be structured around a series of half-day sessions focusing on projects or topics related to the following themes<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Collections <\/strong>(print and electronic)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Furniture and buildings<\/strong> (facilities and infrastructure)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Open science<\/strong> (one full day<\/em>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Preservation and heritage<\/strong>, including preservation and digitisation policies<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Support for teaching and research<\/strong>, particularly training for doctoral candidates and researchers<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Systems and data<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. User services<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Several library visits<\/strong> will be organised. A debriefing session will take place on Friday, 3 July, at the end of the morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A more detailed programme will be shared with all participants in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Registration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Update from Jan 14 2026<\/u>: The maximum number of participants is limited to 30. Registration is now closed<\/strong> as this limit has been reached. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Update from Jan 19 2026<\/u>: The waiting list has been closed as its limit has been reached as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Only librarians or professionals working in the library sector will be accepted.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Funding<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Participation in the 2026 edition is free of charge. ULi\u00e8ge Library does not <\/strong>provide meal, accommodation or transport services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Contact your institution’s international relations office to see if funding for your participation in this week (hotel, travel, meals, etc.) is possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
